Description

The Shinko steam turbine are specially designed, manufactured and tested in Japan since 1956. Shinko steam turbine are widely accepted in the Palm Oil Industries, Power Plants, Paper Mills, Sugar Factories, Fertilizer Factories, Petrochemical Industries and Marine Industries.
In 2013 PMT Industries Sdn Bhd and Shinko Ind. Ltd. together formed PMT SHINKO Turbine Sdn Bhd and establish facilities in Malaysia for turbine assembly and testing which began operation in 2014. All Shinko turbine model RB4M and RB5M are assembled and tested at PMT SHINKO Turbine facilities in Malaysia.

Vertical trip and throttle (T&T) valve have advantage of:
- Less valve stem jam problem.
- Lower steam pressure drops across the governor valve.

Steam ejector to extract gland leakage steam from packing gland - to avoid leakage steam get into oil sump and contaminate the lubrication oil.

Turbine shaft is sealed by labyrinth packing which is more efficient and durable as compared to carbon rings. The latter need to be replaced on each turbine service.

Lubrication oil strainer is cleanable type without disposable filter element, thus more economical and environmentally friendly.

Turbine shaft is installed with axial movement sensor, an extra protection feature, to trip the turbine due to excessive axial movement caused by excessive thrust created by wet steam or water carry over.

Turbine is of over hung design with counter balance weight fitted on rotor shaft at the opposite end to the rotor wheel. Thus, the complete rotor wheel and shaft are supported by two bearings and well balanced.

Maintenance free flexi disc pack Thomas coupling is used instead of gear teeth coupling. Gear teeth coupling worn off easily and needs regular maintenance and frequent replacement.

Shinko steam turbine is fully manufactured, assembled and tested with life steam before shipment. This will ensure that the TG is aligned and assembled properly, thus avoiding vibration and alignment problems at site.
